After visiting Hochigai Shrine, we stopped off at a small local shop called Takoyaki Suzu, about a five minute drive away.
I wasn’t planning a big meal — just something small — and this turned out to be the perfect place for a quick and satisfying snack.
Soft Inside and Out, with Rich Dashi Flavor

The takoyaki here is soft both outside and inside.
Unlike the crispy style that has become popular in some areas, Takoyaki Suzu serves a fully tender version. The batter is infused with dashi (Japanese soup stock), giving it a gentle but flavorful taste.
Each bite is warm, soft, and comforting.
It’s the kind of takoyaki that feels homemade and traditional.
8 Pieces for Just 300 Yen

One of the most surprising things was the price. Eight pieces cost only 300 yen, which is very reasonable.

A Friendly, Local Atmosphere

The owner was very friendly and welcoming. The shop feels like a place loved by the local community rather than a tourist-focused business.
It has a simple, nostalgic atmosphere that makes you feel relaxed. I’d Like to Try the Okonomiyaki Next Time. In addition to takoyaki, they also have okonomiyaki and yakisoba.
Takoyaki Suzu may not be a famous or flashy spot, but it offers soft, dashi-rich takoyaki at a very affordable price.
If you are exploring Sakai and want a simple, local-style snack, this is a nice place to stop by.
